Irish poet and dramatist, William Butler Yeats (1865-1939) was born in Sandycove, Dublin on 13 June 1865, the son of John Butler Yeats, barrister turned portrait painter, and Susan Pollexfen, daughter of a wealthy mills and shipping Sligo family.
