Today, 11 October 2024, the International Conference titled “Interconnection of Times and Civilizations – the Basis of Peace and Development” was inaugurated in the capital, under the chairmanship of the President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov.
The high-level Forum, held in the large conference hall of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, welcomed the President of the Republic of Armenia, Vahagn Khachaturyan; the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian; the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev; the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Sadyr Japarov; the President of Mongolia, Ukhnaagiin Khurelsukh; the President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Asif Ali Zardari; the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin; the President of the Republic of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon; and the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
Among the distinguished guests were the Chairman of the Grand National Assembly of the Republic of Türkiye, the Head of the Republic of Tatarstan of the Russian Federation, the Chairman of the UNESCO General Conference, heads of international organizations, foreign government representatives, renowned scholars, cultural figures, and diplomats.
The forum is part of an extensive program celebrating the 300th anniversary of the great Turkmen poet and philosopher, Magtymguly Fragi, which includes various festive events both in Turkmenistan and abroad.
The main objectives of the conference are to promote Magtymguly Fragi’s classical heritage, to explore the connections between the languages and literatures of Eastern peoples, to examine his role in the development of national statehood, and to highlight his contribution as a poet-humanist to the treasury of universal spiritual values.
