The Declaration of Independence of the Republic of Azerbaijan was adopted on 30 August 1991 at the extraordinary session of the Supreme Soviet (Parliament) of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The Deputies of the Parliament adopted the Constitutional Act on « The State Independence of the Republic of Azerbaijan » on 18 October 1991.
